EDINBURGH YOUNG WALKERS

MUCH HAS been happening with the Edinburgh Young Walkers over the last six months. From several exciting winter walks up munros to more sedate visits to Lindisfarne and Leith, we have a very varied programme. We have an increasing pool of keen volunteer leaders who kindly give up their time to continue the group's success. Last September group members had an enjoyable weekend away in the Lake District and further trips are planned for 2008, starting with a group going to Tulloch in April.

Edinburgh Young Walkers meets the first and third Thursday of every month in Milne's pub on the corner of Hanover and Rose Street for a social drink or two. The social programme involves an additional monthly "event", be it a ceilidh, a curry, a pub quiz or wine tasting, there is something that will appeal to everyone!

If you are interested in joining Edinburgh Young Walkers then email us at edinburghyoungwalkers@groups.msn.com including a few details about yourself and your walking ambitions. A website manager will then give you access to the msn site and you will receive emails detailing walks you can sign up to. We are working on an open website which we hope will be active by the summer.

As the needs of the group have developed we have begun a sister group for the over 405. As time goes on, we are looking to set this up as an independent group, with their own website.
