HOW THE WALKS ARE GRADED Munros – for the experienced and energetic walker, fully equipped to tackle this type of walk which is usually long and high. Corbetts – same as above. These hills can be just as or more difficult, than Munros A+ walks – severe, arduous walks for the experienced and fit, involving high or rough ground, with exposure, and steep ascents and/or descents. A walks – strenuous, for the fit. Usually involving high or rough ground with steep ascents and/or descents. B+ walks – between moderate and strenuous, for the reasonably fit. Possibly longer than average with some steepish ascents/descents B walks – moderate, demanding a higher standing of fitness than a C walk C+ walks – easy to moderate. Usually longer than a standard C walk with perhaps some gentle ascents or descents C walks – fairly easy. Usually around 5 or 6 miles. Suitable for anyone of average fitness. |
