Midlothian GroupThe Midlothian Group is a friendly group with members from all over Midlothian.
We mainly meet on a Sunday and offer walks for all grades throughout the year. We usually have 2 weekends away during the year where all grades are catered for. An annual “long walk weekend” is also scheduled close to the Summer Solstice, where we undertake a long, linear/low level walk usually somewhere in the Highlands.
Prior to the Christmas break our traditional festive walk is followed by a high tea. This well-attended short walk is suitable for all grades of walkers. Members who are no longer able to walk with the group are invited to join us for the high tea.
Our regular meeting point is the car park at the Midlothian Indoor Bowling Club – MIBC – (NT329672) which allows all-day, free parking. It is located less than 5 minutes walk from the centre of Dalkeith, on Old Edinburgh Road, Dalkeith EH22 IJD. Dalkeith is well served by a number of bus routes. Buses from Bonnyrigg, Edinburgh, Musselburgh and other locations all
arrive in time to allow members to join us on our walks.
We rely on car sharing to reach the start of our walks and suggest a contribution of 35p per mile, per car. The total cost is
shared by the number of walkers.
We regret that no dogs are allowed on our walks.
If you would like to go on one or more of our walks or other events please contact us identifying the event(s) and we'll email you back with details of how to contact the Walk Leader. Please allow a couple of days for us to reply.WALKS PROGRAMME – April to October 2016
