North Berwick and District Group

We hold monthly Family Walks which are a great introduction to walking for all ages. Ideal for a Sunday afternoon these walks start after lunch and last for 2 hours. Why not bring your chidren or grandchildren along or you can just turn up on your own. All welcome.

Meeting places for all walks, unless otherwise advised, are either North Berwick Station car park or outside Council Offices in Court Street, Haddington.

Consult the leader before bringing dogs on any walk. Where permitted, they are the responsibility of the owner and must be kept under strict control, to avoid nuisance to farm stock and other walkers.

Circular from Haddington via Alderston, Garleton Ridge, Athelstaneford, Kilduff Hill and Hopetoun Monument. OS 66. Meet NB 0845, Hadd 0900. Cost by car (from NB) £ 1.50.

Sunday 15 April. C+ 11k (7m).
Circular from Gorebridge (Goreglen carpark NT 336 617), via River South Esk, Arniston House, Carlisle Wood, Catcune Mills and Gore Water. OS 66. Meet NB 0900, Hadd 0915. Cost by car £ 3.

Fri 20 – Sun 22 April Spring Weekend
Weekend at Rowardennan YH on Loch Lomond. A&B walks. OS 56. Bookings before 29 Feb to leader with sae (or e-mail address) & £33 cheque for hostel. Breakfasts available at hostel if required - cooked £6, or continental £4.25, pay on arrival. Cost by car £ 14.50

Circ from Halterburn (nr Kirk Yetholm) via Pennine Way to The Schill & Auchope Rig, returning on Pennine Way via the Halterburn valley. 700m ascent. OS 74. Meet NB 0800, Hadd 0815. Cost by car £7.
