North Berwick and District Group

We hold monthly Family Walks which are a great introduction to walking for all ages. Ideal for a Sunday afternoon these walks start after lunch and last for 2 hours. Why not bring your chidren or grandchildren along or you can just turn up on your own. All welcome.

Meeting places for all walks, unless otherwise advised, are either North Berwick Station car park or outside Council Offices in Court Street, Haddington.

Consult the leader before bringing dogs on any walk. Where permitted, they are the responsibility of the owner and must be kept under strict control, to avoid nuisance to farm stock and other walkers.

Sunday 18 December. Combined A, B & C walk, 12m, 6m & 6m. Mince Pie & Mulled Wine walk : Hadd – E.Linton – N.Berwick.
Meeting times and places: A walkers contact leader, B walkers 11.00 at E.Linton library car park, C walkers Hadd 10.00, NB 10.15 (at Law car park). A walkers walk from Haddington to E.Linton, to meet B walkers 11.30 at Drylaw Hill, then walk N on JMW to meet C walkers coming towards them. C walkers meet at NB Law car park 10.15 and leave NB Law car park at 10.30, walking S on JMW to meet up with A & B walkers. After lunch together, all continue to N.Berwick for return to Hadd by bus and E.Linton by cars. b.y.o mince pie & mulled wine (optional). Cost by car (from NB & Dunbar) £ 1.

Gullane to Dirleton via old railway, Drem airfield and East Fenton. OS 66. Mostly on good paths/tracks. Return to start by bus. Meet NB 0900, Hadd 0915. Cost by car £ 1.50.

Linear walk along River Tyne from Haddington to Tyne estuary, finishing at Linkfield car park, West Barns. Negligible ascent. OS 66. Return to Haddington by bus. Contact leader for start times. Cost by car (from N.Berwick) £ 1.50.

Saturday 14 January. Lothian & Borders Area AGM. To be hosted by NB Group this year in St Andrew’s Church Hall. Local walk 10.30 – 12.30. Soup & Sandwiches to be served. AGM, speaker & business in afternoon.
